Weekly graphic design references: Sports

Gonna try add some weekly inspo to beef up this content a bit more. Here is the first installment.
Classic shapes, colours, and type.

I was working on a design job for RM Williams x Wallabies, that let me explore some classic jersey designs. For the job, I was creating some badges and jersey stripes/shapes for a little capsule.

During the research I came across some classic jerseys. There is something beautiful about the simplicity of shapes adorned on jerseys. The mixture of blocks of colour, stripes, cuts and collars all make each jersey unique and identifiable. Can’t help but have a real soft spot for the embroidered patches of these jerseys too. Perfected in the design stage and then relatively uncontrolled in the embroidery stage, you are left with a unique badge, full of character and texture.

It was during this week, I also just found a heap of interesting graphic design in the sport realm. Here is a taste.
